The big win of this weekend belonged to EA7 Milano which prevailed over Sassari (97-80) and leads the standings in Legabasket with a 21-2 record, leaving second Venezia at 18-6 and Sassari at 17-7. However the first game of Metta World Peace with Cantu on the road over Pistoia was the main attraction.

The former NBA champion couldn’t lead his new team to the win as Pistoia prevailed with 88-87 in overtime (78-78). Metta World Peace had 16 points on 8/8 FT, 8 rebounds, 1 steal and 3 assists, but only 3/14 FG and of course his first technical. Despite scoring five key points in overtime and making big plays in the closing seconds of regulation, his turnover with 12 second to go was crucial and gave the chance to Tony Easley for the winning buzzer beater. Pistoia is now eight in the standings (11-13) and Cantu 11th (10-13).
