It’s a well known fact that CSKA Moscow is for many years the most expensive team in Europe and once more this was officially confirmed in today’s press conference of the VTB League. As the league president Sergey Ivanov announced, CSKA’s budget for the 2014-15 is an all time high of 42,3 m. euros.
Even if this ammount are the total expenses, most of the cost is going to team salaries, as it’s the case in every European team. Khimki is second on the list with less than half of CSKA’s budget (16 m. euros) and Lokomotiv Kuvan is third (13,6 m. euros). In any case it’s obvious that CSKA is above any financial competition, as no other team in Europe no matter the country is able to spend in total more than 30 million euros at best, according to most local reports.
