Dimitris Giannakopoulos is not officially the president and owner of Panathinaikos, however this didn’t prevent him from attacking verbally Vasilis Spanoulis for everything that happened at OAKA.
As he said on live television: “A nobody who came to OAKA 25 times and has left with head low can’t do such things. What he wanted to demonstrate? Why he showed us his ears. I am asking from Prime Minister Mr. Tsipras and the deputy minister of sports mr. Kodonis to punish him in order to set an example. Spanoulis doesn’t have a place in Greece and in basketball. He wanted to provocate”.
Olympiacos posted a video in which a person with a voice similar to Giannakopoulos can be heard cursing at Spanoulis in the locker rooms of OAKA using the “F” word and wishing for his family to die. Olympiacos has sued Giannakopoulos using this video, however there may be even more evidences.
