Panathinaikos beat PAOK (83-58) with ease in the first semifinal Game of the Greek league thanks to a great last quarter. The Greens played without Batista and of course Gist and Pappas who are missing the rest the season.
PAOK was competitive until the end of the third period (45-45, 27′) but collapsed in the last one. Panathinaikos won the last quarter by 19 points (28-9) and prevailed easily by 25 points. The hosts lead the series with 1-0 wins and on Thursday will host again PAOK in the second semifinal.
The visitors were close behind Margaritis’ great game (18 points and 8 rebs) but Panathinaikos shot great in the end and had on a good night Mavrokefalidis (16 p, 7 rebs, 5 assists), Fotsis (12 points, 11 rebs), Jankovic (12p), Slaughter (11p) and Nelson (10p).
