The home courts decided the outcome of the last two first round series in TBL playoffs. Fenerbahce/ Ulker and Karsiyaka prevailed in Game 3 and now they will face each other in the semifinals.
Fenerbahce beat arch-rival Galatasaray (67-59) with ease. After the first quarter Fenerbahce build a double digits lead and pretty much kept it until the end. The hero of the game was Turkish guard Melih Mahmutoglu who scored 18 points and made the difference with key plays in the second half. It was a rematch of last season’s finals which ended up with Fenerbahce prevailing again.
In the first encounter of the day, Karsiyaka got the 90-79 over Banvit and also qualified with 2-1 wins. The hosts got the control from the get go, they had a 37-15 lead and never looked back. Kenny Gabriel (24 p.) and Bobby Dixon (20 p.) were the leaders of the winners, while Jimmy Baron scored 15 points for Banvit.
