Despite a bad start, Vanoli Cremona bounced back and eventually logged a narrow 95-93 home win against Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia in the Italian League. Cremona improved to 12-7 compared to Reggiana’s 9-11 record.
Jordan Mathews scored 19 points for the winning side but it was Ethan Happ and Travis Diener that pushed the squad in the final minutes scoring Cremona’s last seven points. They finished the game with 18 each.
For Reggiana, Simone Fontecchio banked 23 followed by Darius Johnson-Odom’s 22 and Reggie Upshaw’s 18 points.
Virtus Bologna stayed at the top of the standings with an 18-2 record while Sassari has 15-5 in front of Brescia and Olimpia Milano which hold 13-7 records.
