Although Brindisi made a few comeback runs, they couldn’t turn the game around and Venezia secured a 73-67 win in the Italian Cup Final.
This is the first-ever Italian Cup trophy for Venezia and it is the first time in competition history that an eighth-seeded team won it all.
Mitchell Watt was leading the victorious effort with 17 points and ten rebounds while Stefano Tonut and Austin Daye scored 13 each.
Adrian Banks put on another strong performance with 27 points for Brindisi but it wasn’t enough this time around. Raphael Gaspardo added eight points while John Brown grabbed 12 boards.
