Pesaro survived a tough battle against Sassari with a 115-110 win in overtime to advance to the Italian Cup semifinals. Justin Robinson paced Pesaro with a game-high 27-point performance, while Henri Drell and Carlos Delfino tapped 23 and 19 points respectively. Gerald Robinson had a key contribution in the extra five-minute period to contribute 15 points for the winners.
Eimantas Bendzius paced Sassari with 22 points, Marco Spissu had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds and Miro Bilan contributed 19 points.
Earlier on Friday, Brindisi defeated Trieste 93-81 to also seal a spot in the Italian Cup semifinals. Raphael Gaspardo led the way for Brindisi with 17 points and 6 rebounds, while Milton Doyle had 16 points for Trieste.
Olimpia Milano and Reyer Venezia have already advanced to the semifinals after beating Reggio Emilia and Virtus Bologna respectively on Thursday.
