Shavon Shields was on fire from start to finish as he led Olimpia Milano to a 94-84 home win against Virtus Bologna in the Italian League.
Shields scored 22 in the first half and finished with a career-high 35 points (6-7 from two, 7-9 from three) including a dagger three-and-one play with a minute remaining to put Milano up 91-84 and seal the deal. He also logged a career-high 37 PIR.
Zach LeDay was of huge help to the guard with a constant presence in the paint with 21 points and eight rebounds. Malcolm Delaney scored 11 points.
On the opposing side, Amar Alibegovic had 18 while Marco Belinelli and Milos Teodosic scored 15 points each.
Milano improved to a 20-6 record at the top of the standings followed by Happy Casa Brindisi with 19-5 while Virtus holds the third spot with 18-8.
