AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milano defeated Dolomiti Energia Trento, 93-72, at the Mediolanum Forum on Sunday.
Shavon Shields led the way with 19 points powered by 5/11 fields goals in the LBA Regular Season Round 2 affair. His side improved to 2-0 in the Italian league.
Fresh off the home win against CSKA Moscow to open the 2021-22 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, the team coached by Ettore Messina built a double-digit advantage in the second quarter. The visitors managed to cut the deficit to seven points during the third period but without getting back in the game.
Riccardo Moraschini with 13 points and Malcolm Delaney with 12 points helped get the job done. Konstantinos Mitoglou went for ten points. For Trento, ex-NBA player Cameron Reynolds recorded a team-high 15 points.
Milano’s Kyle Hines and Sergio Rodriguez did not play. Injured Troy Daniels remained out.
Elsewhere, defending champions Virtus Segafredo Bologna dominated Openjobmetis Varese for the 97-56 victory. Kevin Hervey with 23 points and Kyle Weems stood out as the team led by Sergio Scariolo went to 2-0.
The other 2-0 teams are NutriBullet Treviso and UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia. Allianz Pallacanestro Trieste can join the undefeated group if they beat Carpegna Prosciutto Pesaro on the road Wednesday.
