Olimpia Milan kept up its winning ways to conclude the week on a good note with an 82-79 victory against Varese on the road to stay perfect in the Italian Legabasket.
Devon Hall stepped up for Ettore Messina’s squad with 16 points, Nicolo Melli had 14 points and 9 rebounds, while Sergio Rodriguez and Shavon Shields both tapped 10 points for Milan.
Varese entered the fourth period with a four-point advantage, though thanks to the efforts of Hall and Rodriguez, Milan escaped with the win in the end. Alessandro Gentile led the hosts with 25 points and 5 rebounds.
In the meantime, Virtus Bologna also registered its third win in respective games after beating Venezia 84-65 on the road.
Despite lacking key players of the rotation, JaKarr Sampson filled up for Virtus with 17 points, Kyle Weems had 15 and Kevin Harvey left the game with 11 points and 5 boards.
Venezia’s Mitchell Watt had a game-high performance with 21 points and 8 rebounds, even though the team slipped its second straight game.
