Marco Belinelli scored 23 points on five 3-pointers as Virtus Bologna beat Happy Casa Brindisi 93 – 81 to advance to the Italian Cup semifinals. They will meet Basket Tortona for a spot in the title game.
Kyle Weems added 17 points – including six key points down the stretch – and five rebounds for Virtus while Mam Jaiteh also scored 17. Virtus veteran floor general Milos Teodosic finished with eight points plus six assists during 12 minutes in his return to action after almost six weeks.

Virtus led for the entire game after the mid of the second period, mostly by double figures. The Bologna side went up even by 15 points, 61 – 45 halfway through the third period and was ahead 82 – 67 with six minutes to play.
Brindisi made a quick 0 – 8 run to become a bit dangerous but then Weems responded with a triple and a 3-point play, Belinelli drained one from beyond the arc and Virtus returned at a safe distance.
