Virtus Bologna defeated Tortona Basket 77 – 69 on the road in Game 3 of the Italian League semifinals and swept the series 3-0 to advance to the next round. The reigning champions capitalized on a powerful first-half (33-47) performance to get the win.
2022 EuroCup MVP Mam Jaiteh had 17 points and nine rebounds for Virtus while Milos Teodosic delivered 15 points and Toko Shengelia added 14 points, six assists and six boards. Their team established a double-digit lead in the second period and remained in control for the rest of the match.
Tortona made an 8-0 run to approach 59 – 65 halfway through the fourth period but Virtus answered with five unanswered points and never allowed its opponents to pose any real threat.
Jamarr Sanders scored 13 points, Mike Daum had 11 points plus seven rebounds and JP Macura dropped 11 points for Tortona.
