Pallacanestro Reggiana has officially announced the acquisition of experienced NBA and EuroLeague center Tarik Black until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The 32-year-old center, born in 1991, brings a wealth of experience from over 200 NBA appearances with the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers. Black furthered his career in Europe, playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague and Zenit St. Petersburg. He also had a stint in Turkey with Bahcesehir, where he won the FIBA Europe Cup in the 2021-2022 season alongside teammate Jamar Smith.
In the previous season, Black returned to Euroleague action with Olympiakos, contributing to their journey to the Final Four, with an average of 9 points and 4.2 rebounds in 16 minutes.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Black stated, “This opportunity is a great honor for me. I’ve reached a point in my career where my main goal is to help the teams I play for win as many games as possible and grow. Having the chance to do it in a fantastic club like Pallacanestro Reggiana makes me happy. My family and I are ready and galvanized by this new experience, which we would like to make special.”
Upon completion of visa-related procedures, Black is set to join Pallacanestro Reggiana in Italy after the conclusion of the Italian Cup.
