Losing to Zalgiris Kaunas in the latest EuroLeague appointment, Milano suffered but escaped from Reggio Emilia with a victory, ending Easter week with the 70-66 win over Dimitris Priftis’ team.
Stefano Tonut shone and led the red-and-white powerhouse with a 19-point performance, followed by Nikola Mirotic who scored 16 points to contribute to Milano‘s success on the road. Nicolò Melli, who started his career in Reggio Emilia, had 10 points and saved his side with huge plays down the stretch.
Being crucial in the home team’s comeback attempt late in the game, Langston Galloway ended with a losing effort of 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists; former UNICS Kazan Jamar Smith added 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Darion Atkins had 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Even leading by 15 points on several occasions during the game, Milano almost lost control in the fourth quarter, where the hosts produced an 11-2 run to reduce the deficit to only two points (66-64) with 2:36 left. However, they still managed to get the victory to reach Virtus Bologna at 17 victories.
