In a surprising move, Kevin Pangos won’t play in any international competition during the 2024-25 season, as he signed a one-year deal to return to Italy with Napoli Basket.
Coming off a season between Milan and Valencia Basket in the 2023-24 EuroLeague, the 31-year-old couldn’t find enough stability and playing time both under Ettore Messina and Alex Mumbru.
His former red-and-white team lost last season to Igor Milicic’s Napoli in the Italian Cup Final, but the side from Southern Italy won’t be competing in any European competitions in the upcoming season.
“I am very excited to be joining Napoli Basket for the upcoming season. I am grateful for the opportunity to play high-level basketball and compete every day. I am looking forward to working with my new teammates and the coaching staff to achieve our goals this year”, he first commented.
He had his best personal season in 2020-21 with Zenit Saint Petersburg, averaging 13.5 points and 6.7 assists per game and being named into the All-EuroLeague First Team. He also has previous experiences with Gran Canaria, Zalgiris Kaunas, Barcelona, and a short stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
