Sidestepping a sluggish start, Virtus Segafredo Bologna beat Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari, 95-85, in Unipol Arena on Sunday.

Retaining a one-game deficit from Dolomiti Energia Trento, the unbeaten leader of Italy’s LBA UnipolSai, Luca Banchi’s side created a safe separation midway through the fourth quarter of the Regular Season Round 8 contest to snap a three-game losing streak across all competitions.

Dropping 5/9 from the field, Tornike Shengelia registered 19 points in 27 minutes. Marco Belinelli followed with 14 points. Achille Polonara finished with ten points, Isaia Cordinier and Alessandro Pajola chipped in nine points each, and Daniel Hackett added eight points. For the visitors, Miralem Halilovic shared a game-high 19 points.

Extending the perfect domestic start to eight games, Trento defeated Estra Pistoia, 92-88, in PalaCarrara, earlier Sunday. Anthony Lamb tallied 27 points.

Wrapping up the Round 8 schedule, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan beat Vanoli Cremona 95 – 83 on Monday behind 31 points by Armoni Brooks to rejoin Trapani Shark and Germani Brescia at 6-2.
