In a tight finish at PalaLeonessa A2A, after both sides mishandled double-digit advantages, Germani Brescia edged out Virtus Segafredo Bologna, 98-97 in Round 9 of Italy’s LBA UnipolSai Regular Season.

Both ended up at 7-2 on Sunday, two games behind undefeated leader Dolomiti Energia Trento.

Jason Burnell registered a game-high 24 points, including the go-ahead free throw with 3.5 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. He tucked in 9/9 field goals, including two three-pointers. On the losing end, Tornike Shengelia posted a 20-point, 13-rebound double-double.

After going up by a margin of 25 points in Unipol Forum, Bertram Derthona Tortona narrowly held on for a 98-94 victory versus EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and jumped to 5-4 in the domestic league. Tommy Kuhse scored 26 points with 9/12 field goals.

For the team coached by Ettore Messina, Armoni Brooks with 26 points was not enough to avoid falling to 6-3 in the LBA. Leandro Bolmaro, Fabien Causeur, Diego Flaccadori, Josh Nebo, and Stefano Tonut were sidelined.

Meanwhile, Mfiondu Kabengele posted a 28-point, 14-rebound double-double, lifting Umana Reyer Venice to a win, 86-77, against Openjobmetis Varese in Itelyum Arena.
