Shields leads Milano, Pajola Virtus Bologna to victory

Olimpia Milano secured their third consecutive victory in the Italian Lega Basket, defeating Treviso on the road.

Ettore Messina’s side emerged victorious with a final score of 79-89, with Shavon Shields leading the way.

The Danish international scored 26 points with six rebounds, while Nikola Mirotić followed with 12 points. Zach LeDay added 11 points, while Leandro Bolmaro and Diego Flaccadori contributed 10 points each.

Ky Bowman erupted for Treviso with 27 points, but it wasn’t enough, as only Pauly Paulicap, with 15 points and eight rebounds, and D’Angelo Harrison, with 10 points, provided additional support.

At the same time, Virtus Bologna also ended 2024 on a positive note, defeating Scafati 97-71 at home.

Alessandro Pajola led the way, recording a double-double with 13 points and 10 assists, while Will Clyburn, Matt Morgan, and Achille Polonara added 10 points each, with the Italian power forward also grabbing eight boards.

For the losing side, Rob Gray had 18 points, Paulius Sorokas scored 15, and Sacar Anim added 14 points.
