The 46th general assembly of the Italian basketball federation elected on Saturday once more Giovanni Petrucci as the president until 2020.
Petrucci, the only candidate, received 92.05% of the votes. “I’m happy for the great participation in this assembly. I had two options, to be candidate for mayor of the city of San Felice Circeo or basketball. I chose the latter. Here is my heart”, said the longtime president of FIP who was born in 1945 and elected for the first time back in 1992.
Petrucci was also the president of the Italian Olympic committee from 1999 until 2013.
