Olimpia Milano struggled but eventually managed to prevail over Brindisi 77-75 and sealed a ticket for the Italian Cup semifinals.
Milan Macvan (11 points, 7 rebounds) saved his team in the finale, when he grabbed the offensive rebound after a failed shot by Jamel McLean (14 points, 7 rebounds) with 15 seconds to go and scored.
Rakim Sanders and Miroslav Raduljica scored in double digits as well, with 12 and 10 points each.
While Milano’s start in the game left no signs of doubt (28-18 at 10′), in the second period Brindisi covered the gap as was only down by one at halftime (45-44). Milano kept short leads in the third period, still the score was tied at 61 points after 30 minutes. Just when Jasmin Repesa’s team started to pull away, Brindisi almost caused a shock which Macvan prevented in the end!
