Alessandro Gentile will return to Italy for the 2017/2018 season. Not for Olimpia Milano but Virtus Bologna, one of the most historic European clubs, that got recently promoted back to Serie A after winning the Second Division championship.
According to Corriere Di Bologna, Gentile is set to be officially announced next Friday (21/7) and become the second major signing of the team ahead of the new season, following Pietro Aradori.
The report also mentions that Gentile already asked for equipment that will allows him to practice individually in Bologna before the preparation of the squad begins.
Gentile, 24, comes from a season that found him playing for three different teams. He started with Olimpia Milano and was then loaned to Panathinaikos after a mutual agreement between him and the “Red Shoes” to join an other team.
The Greens waived the Italian swingman on March and he then joined Simone Pianigiani in Hapoel Jerusalem, Israel.
