In summer, Alessandro Gentile joined Virtus Bologna aiming to rekindle his career following a disappointing 2016-217 campaign. And his latest epic performance is another testament that he’s returning to form.
The Italian wing scored an overall career-high 32 points, leading his team to a 90 – 85 overtime road victory over Varese for the Italian League. He also hit THIS big-time 3-pointer that practically locked the win.
Thanks to this scoring performance, the 25-year-old player broke his previous career-best 29 points, a number he had registered twice (in Milano – Montegranaro and Milano – Baskonia).
Gentile finished with 12/17 shots from the field, including 2/6 from beyond the arc. He added 6 rebounds and 2 assists in 37 minutes for 30 in PIR.
Pietro Aradori added 17 points plus 10 rebounds for Bologna, helping them rise to a 6-6 record. Stan Okoye had 18 points and 8 rebounds for Varese that dropped to 4-8.
