Brescia became the second team to advance in the Italian Cup Final after defeating Cantu 87 – 82 in overtime. It was a similar manner with the 92 – 87 victory of Torino over Cremona that also arrived after an extra period.
Once again Luca Vitali was the go-to-guy for Brescia. Not only did he finish with 19 points and 9 rebounds but also hit a key 3-pointer two minutes into the extra period for the 82 – 79 lead of his team. Brescia never looked back after that bucket.
Charles Thomas had 20 points, Jaime Smith 19 and Jeremy Chappell 17 and 13 rebounds for Cantu. Chappell also forced the extra five minutes with a pair of free throws but he and his teammates didn’t endure in overtime.
As for Torino, it advanced to the Final thanks to Diante Garett’s 18 points and Vander Blue’s 17. Simone Fontecchio scored 16 plus the basket that sent the game to overtime for Cremona.
