For the first time in club’s history, Torino became Italian Cup winner after defeating Brescia 69 – 67 in a thriller.
Brescia had the chance to take the lead but Luca Vitali missed the triple. Marcus Landry (22 points for the losing side) grabbed the offensive rebound but he lost the ball and Sasha Vujacic made a layup in the other end with two seconds left.
Diante Garrett led the champions in scoring with 16 while Valerio Mazzola contributed with 6 points and 11 boards.
After a slow first half, Brescia escaped with a 3-point lead at the break (31 – 28). They had the chance to break the game during the third quarter (37 – 45, 24′) but Torino’s reaction prevented it.
It was a three-point game with 10 minutes left (56 – 53) but Brescia struggled offensively in the third quarter and Torino took a 59 – 61 lead. The game was decided in clutch time.
