In what was a close game throughout 45 minutes, Brescia defeated Olimpia Milano 88-85 thanks to Marcus Landry’s big shot in overtime.
With one minute on the clock in regulation, the hosts had a two-point lead (75-73) but M’baye scored a jumper to tie it up (75-75) and eventually forced overtime. Andrew Goudelock led the way in the extra period and so Olimpia went up ahead (83-85) but not for long as Marcus Landry answered right back (86-85) with a critical three-pointer that decided the game.
The former NBAer finished with a near double-double as he put up 21 points and nine rebounds. Brescia has now improved to 19-9 on the year.
In Sassari, Dinamo could not get past Venezia who continues to roll in the Italian League and is currently sitting first in the standings with a 21-6 record. Daye Austin scored 18 points for the winners.
Cantu and Cremona got on the road victories, after defeating Pesaro and Brindisi respectively. Avellino also enjoyed a victory away from home, with a tough 73-77 overtime win over Capo d’Orlando.
