As La Gazzetta Dello Sport reported, Virtus Bologna will offer a 2+1 contract to former Brose Bamberg coach Andrea Trinchieri.
Virtus will try to bounce back from a not-so-successful season (they missed the Italian League playoffs), with a strong reinforcement in the head coach position.
According to the same reports, the Italian side was also interested in Sasha Djordjevic, yet now Trinchieri seems to be the front-runner for the position.
The 49-year-old coach left Bamberg a few months prior, after spending four seasons with the German team, while he has plenty of experience in the Italian league, having coached Cantu, Veroli, Vanoli Cremona and Juvecaserta.
