The top-seeded team of the regular season in the Italian league, Reyer Venezia, got the win over Cremona with 87-77 and kicked off the playoffs series in fashion.
Hrvoje Peric led the winners with 23 points and seven rebounds, while Mike Bramos followed with 12 points.
Venezia made the first step forward towards defending their title and will try to defend its homecourt once again on Tuesday.
So far, Olimpia Milano and Brescia share a win each in the series against Cantu and Varese respectively.
