Nemanja Nedovic scored 23 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed four rebounds to lead Olimpia Milano to an 81 – 59 win over Leonessa Brescia in the second semifinal of the Italian Supercup. The “Red Shoes” will play in the final of the competition for fifth year in a row.
It was quite the display of strength by the reigning Italian League champions, especially in the second half. Brescia remained competitive until the break (35 – 31) but Milano stormed out of the locker rooms to win the third quarter 23 – 11 and never look back.
Milano will face Larry Fiat Torino in the Final. Coach Larry Brown’s team advanced to the title game by defeating Dolomiti Energia Trento 81 – 72 in the first semifinal.
Apart from Nedovic, Mike James had 17 points (6/15 from the field) and four assists. Vladimir Micov added 12points and five rebounds.
Former Milano player Awudu Abass (15 points) and Jordan Hamilton (14 points) stood out from Brescia.
