KC Rivers will return to action as a Reggio Emilia player, according to Eurohoops sources. The Italian club offered him a super deal and got him to sign a contract, which includes a EuroLeague-out.
The 31-year-old American forward has been without a team since the beginning of the 2018-19 season. He talked to Eurohoops about his unique situation stressing that he is ready for action. He’s finally getting the chance to prove it.
The diagnosed autoimmune pathology of his past injury has been ruled out by doctors. Rivers did mention in his interview that he believed that many teams avoided contacting him because of this diagnosis, which was mistaken.
He last played in Greece with Panathinaikos. The experienced forward did start his professional career in Italy nine years ago and later went on to play at the EuroLeague level with four different clubs.
His new team has only won two out of its eight first LBA Serie A 2018-19 games. However, Reggio Emilia’s deal with Rivers might give the team a much needed boost when it will be finalized.
