Olimpia Milano took over in the second quarter and didn’t let go on their way to a 101-74 road win against Cantu on Day 9 of Italian League.
Mindaugas Kuzminskas led the way with 20 points while Arturas Gudaitis was right behind with 19. points and eight rebounds. Christian Burns helped with 15 in addition to Curtis Jerrells’ 11 points.
For Cantu, Davon Jefferson scored 20 and Frenk Gaines added 16. Ike Udanoh registered a double-double with 14 points and 12 assists.
After a tie in the first quarter (18-18), Milano went ahead by a 15-point margin (41-26) but Cantu got softened the blow by halftime (44-36). The hosts got as close as to a four-point deficit (50-46) but Milano quickly got the double-digit lead once again with a 6-0 run and never looked back.
Milano stayed the only undefeated team and improved to 9-0 while Cantu holds a 3-6 record.
