Olimpia Milano will appeal the Italian Federation’s decision to award a 20-0 win to Pistoia due to James Nunnally playing in the game while under suspension.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, per Basket Italy, Milano says that Nunnally didn’t receive any notification of the one-game suspension he was sanctioned with from his stint with Sidigas Avellino in 2015-2016. That’s because when the player has officially received the punishment in November 2016, he was already with Turkish side Fenerbahce.
The notification of the sanction was sent to Nunnally’s last known address in Avellino. But the player wasn’t there to receive it and was thus not notified, Milano claims. Sidigas Avellino was also “not obliged” by any rules to notify the player.
