Umana Reyer Venezia was holding the lead from start to finish as they grabbed a 79-69 road win over Vanoli Cremona in the Italian League semifinals. They won the series 3-2 and will clash with Dinamo Sassari in the Finals.
Michael Bramos shot 5-9 from deep and banked 22 points while Austin Daye followed with 20 points in addition to Gasper Vidmar’s 11 and Stefano Tonut’s ten points.
For Cremona, Wesley Saunders scored 21 points followed by Andrew Crawford’s 13 and Travis Diener’s ten points.
Venezia went ahead 25-12 after the first quarter and kept the distance until halftime (47-33). They improved the lead to as much as 23 points during the third quarter (67-44) and although Cremona decreased the gap by quite a bit (76-69) it was too late to change the outcome.
