Reyer Venezia came back from a 13-point deficit to defeat Dinamo Sassari 72 – 70 in Game 1 of the Italian League best-of-seven Final series.
Marquez Haynes scored 15 points and Mitchell Watt 14 for Venezia. Jaime Smith paced Sassari with a game-high 19 points.
Venezia was down 34 – 47 in the mid of the third period but recovered quickly enough to close the quarter up 54 -52. With the score 68 – 68 and less than a minute remaining Julyan Stone hit the go-ahead 3-pointer for Venezia that held on until the final horn.
Game 2 takes place at Venezia Wednesday (12/6).
