Austin Daye scored a game-high 22 points, including the go-ahead basket and grabbed seven rebounds as Reyer Venezia beat Dinamo Sassari 76 – 73 in Game 3 of the Italian League Finals.
Venezia reclaimed homecourt advantage after a 66-80 defeat in Game 2 and is now leading 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.
Daye drained a key 3-pointer for the 71 – 74 with 33 seconds remaining and then hit the free throws that sealed his team’s win. Sassari had made a 14 – 0 run after falling behind with a 50 – 64 deficit and eight minutes left and then made another comeback to tie it 71 – 71, before Daye’s decisive triple.
Rashawn Thomas had 17 points and six rebounds for Sassari.
Game 4 takes place at Sassari Sunday (16/6).
