Kyle Weems was on fire in the Bologna derby leading Segafredo Virtus to a 94-62 win over Fortitudo Pompea in the Italian League.
Weems nailed 32 points on 13-16 shooting including 4-5 from deep. Vince Hunter followed with 15 and Julian Gamble with ten points. The Serbian point guard duo of Milos Teodosic and Stefan Markovic dished ten assists each.
On the other side, Henry Seems scored 16 in addition to Kassius Robertson and Daniele Cinciarini’s 12 points each. Seems also grabbed 13 boards.
Virtus was off to a strong start leading 22-11 after ten minutes and increased the gap to 45-25 at halftime. They kept the distance after the break as well, being up 65-46 at the end of the third and sealing the deal in the fourth quarter.
Virtus improved to 12-2 at the top of the Italian League standings while Fortitudo is sixth with an 8-6 record.
