Greek NT forward Georgios Printezis did not join the selection on Friday’s friendly game against Mexico, as he is facing an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined for the upcoming Olympic Qualifying Tournament in late June.
Rick Pitino commented on Printezis’ injury after the game, stating that it seems “grave” and that the 36-year-old forward will not be joining the team for the tournament in Victoria, as he needs to undergo surgery.
This is a major blow for Greece, as the team also lacks Ioannis Papapetrou, who won’t participate in the Pre-Olympic tournament due to a knee problem.
Plus as it was announced a COVID case was detected on the Greek national team camp, but not among the players of the roster or the coaches.
