Changes in the Greek Basketball Federation came also with changes to the national team and that includes the coaching. According to Vangelis Ioannou, Stefanos Dedas will lead the team during the FIBA windows while Dimitris Itoudis will take over for EuroBasket 2022.
The official announcement is expected tomorrow in the first press conference after the elections.
Neither coach has had experience with the Greek national team so far, however, Dedas did have two stints as an assistant in the Slovenian national team, in 2009 and between 2014 and 2016.
Itoudis is preparing for his eighth season at the helm of CSKA as he tries to lift his third EuroLeague trophy while Dedas has been leading AEK, after two years in Israel with Hapoel Holon.
