Indiana Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon is interested in playing for the Polish national team and the country’s Basketball Federation is trying to make it happen, according to Przeglad Sportowy.
There are also several other players on the Federation’s list, but the NBA player, who also has family ties with the city of Slupsk, could definitely be the biggest star of the team if he takes up the spot on the roster as a naturalized player.
Brogdon’s connection to Poland comes from his wife who’s got Polish roots and her relatives live in the vicinity of Slupsk. Brogdon was also on a visit to the city last summer during which he also trained with Pawel Leonczyk, who played for the Polish national team in the past.
The 29-year-old has been averaging 18.5 points this season along with 5.8 assists and 5.1 rebounds over 30 games, all as a starter.
