Team USA delivered and won the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, avenging the 2023 FIBA World Cup squad that finished fourth. USA is now looking at the 2027 World Cup in Qatar as the next big competition.
Anthony Edwards was part of both previous teams, but it seems he won’t be participating in Qatar in three years.
Talking to Joe Vardon from The Athletic about the possibility of being with the team in the 2027 planetary competition, the Minnesota Timberwolves star simply said:
“Hell nah.”
Therefore, it seems that Team USA could again go to the World Cup without some of the biggest stars, as it is expected that Edwards will be one of the best U.S. players in three years’ time.
