As it was confirmed today, Greek coach Ilias Zouros will be sitting on the bench of the Georgian national team with the goal to qualify to the Eurobasket 2017.
Utah Jazz‘s assistant coach Igor Kokoskov left the Georgian national team for the Slovenian national team and Zouros replaced him. He has been a head coach in the Euroleague level and also of the senior men’s Greek national basketball team. In 2010 he was Eurocup’s coach of the year and he has also been in charge of Olympiacos, Anadolu Efes and Zalgiris Kaunas, winning the Lithuanian championship, the Lithuanian cup and the Baltic league.
The deal was confirmed via twitter by the agent of Zouros, Giorgos Dimitropoulos and the interest was exclusively reported by Eurohoops one month ago.
