Dejan Tomasevic spoke to the Serbian radio station B92 about the situation with FIBA and the national teams’ ban from Eurobasket 2017 and he said that Serbia is just warned and not banned.
As the vice president of the Serbian federation and former player explained: “The letter was just a warning. We spoke with all the federations from the region and our clubs. We have to wait”. Serbia in theory is also in danger of losing the right to host one of the pre-olympic tournaments and the men’s national team losing the right to participate in the upcoming Rio Olympics.
Tomasevic said that he hoped this is not the case and when he was asked if Partizan BC will be persuaded not to compete in Eurocup, he added: “We have an excellent cooperation with the clubs, it will soon be known”.
