Latvia will fight for a place in the Rio Olympics without the biggest star of the country. Kristaps Porzingis announced in a press conference in Riga, Latvia, that he will not be available for the national team this summer.
The Knicks decided that it will be better for the young player to work on his game and not be part of the national team in the qualifying tournament at Belgrade, where the host Serbia is big favorite to get the spot to the Olympic Games.
Latvia will have to play against Japan and Czech Republic in group B of the tournament.
