Despite several key players missing, Lithuania was impressive at its first preparation game, beating New Zealand 88-58.
Specifically, Jonas Kazlauskas’s team didn’t have on the court Valanciunas, Motiejunas, Kalnietis, Maciulis, Sabonis and Jankunas. Mindaugas Girdziunas with 16 points and Mindaugas Kuzminskas with 12 was the leading scorers of the winners.
From the get go, the eventual winners had a 28-12 first quarter lead and got an easy win over an opponent which will fight for an open spot in Rio via the qualifying tournament in Manila.
