The Serbian basketball federation Board decided that the country’s U18 national team won’t participate to the FIBA U18 Championship in Samsun due to Turkey’s recent political events.
Many national federations have expressed their worries about the upcoming tournament in the Turkish city, but Serbia is the first to officially back out of the competition.
FIBA has yet to decide whether the U18 championship is going to be held in Samsun afterall. Interestingly enough, last year’s U18 which was held in Volos had faced difficulties too before happening, again due to political events in Greece.
