The preselection for the national team of Serbia ahead of Eurobasket has been announced and head coach Sasha Djordjevic was called to answer about each of his selections individually.
When it came to Denver Nuggets‘ star Nikola Jokic, the coach was simple, yet firm.
“Is my name Nikola Jokic?”, was his answer when asked about whether the player will join Serbia for the Eurobasket afterall. Everything will be decided after the preparation period.
“This Eurobasket will be very challenging, because Lithuania announced that it comes in full force, Turkey is still 30 percent better at home, and Spain comes with Marc Gasol. Greece is very dangerous, Croatia has caught a great momentum since last year, they have a good base of players, while Italy would like to be taken out of the failure of the Olympic games. Slovenia and France are good, Czech Republic has a lot to look forward too with Satoransky and the only question mark stands in front of Russia. We’ve got a difficult and a lot of good competition and I cannot wait”, the coach admitted.
