Canadian-born combo guard Naz Mitrou-Long has got a Greek passport, according to Eurohoops sources. The player’s link with Greece comes from his mother, Greek-Canadian Georgia Mitrou.

Mitrou-Long, who’s currently playing in the NBA Summer League with the Utah Jazz, has completed all necessary procedures to obtain the Greek passport and citizenship and thus become eligible to play for the Greek national team. Also, if the 25-year-old guard signs with a European team, then he will also occupy a “non-foreign” player’s spot due to his new citizenship status.

After going undrafted in 2017, Mitrou-Long signed a training camp deal with the Jazz, only to be waived prior to the start of the season. He spent most of the year with Salt Lake City Stars.

In his latest Summer League game, Mitrou-Long scored 19 points (7/18 field goals), eight assists and six rebounds.
