Andrea Trinchieri has reached a deal in principle with the Latvian Federation to coach the national team. This will be Trinchieri’s second shot at coaching a national team after a one-year stint with Greece (2013-14).
The 50-year-old Italian coach coached Brose Bamberg for four years winning three German League titles. This past season, he took over Partizan NIS and led the club to a Serbian Cup title as well as to the Serbian League Finals and ABA League semifinals – in both eliminated by Crvena Zvezda mts.
UPDATE: Coach Andrea Trinchieri denies that there’s a deal with the Latvian Federation, but Eurohoops sources insist that he will coach the Latvian national team, while also staying on the bench of Partizan.
I would have preferred you double checked by reaching out to me. So you would have known that it is not true! https://t.co/X9siBkRDLV
