The 2020 All-Star Game ended with a made free throw by Chicago native Anthony Davis who gave to Team LeBron the 157-155 win over Team Giannis.

After three quarters under the new “Elm Ending” rule, the target score for winning the game with 157 points and despite a ten-point advantage by Team Giannis, Team LeBron made the comeback.

“It felt like playing in the league in a playoff game,” Davis said. “It’s a great competition, and it’s 24 players who go out and compete at a very high level, and to do it in front of a crowd like this, with a new format that we were a little skeptical of, we didn’t know how it was gonna go, but everyone, at the end of the day, they loved it. It brings back the competition, so it was great.”

Kawhi Leonard scored 25 of his 30 points in the first half to win his first All-Star Game MVP award, named from this year after Kobe Bryant. He went 8-for-14 overall from 3-point range.

However, the game will be remembered for its tension due to the new format and also because of the tributes to David Stern and also Kobe Bryant with Magic Johnson starting a spectacular night by honoring their memory.

There was hard defense, including Giannis Antetokounmpo blocking LeBron James on a fadeaway jumper and Davis at the rim on a dunk attempt and moving moments dedicated to Kobe and Stern, courtesy of artists Common and Jennifer Hudson.
