The Cleveland Cavaliers and head coach John Beilein are parting ways, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported. Per ESPN, associate head coach J.B. Bickerstaff will be taking over as a full-time head coach.

Beilein will be paid a part of his salary on his 2019-2020 contract. He had signed a five-year deal (the fifth year being a team option) last summer.

The Cavaliers are currently at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings at a 14 – 40 record. They have the league’s second-worst record after the Golden State Warriors (12-43).

Bickerstaff spent two seasons as head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies from 2017 to 2019 before joining Cleveland in the 2019 offseason.
